When A Child is Born

Glory be to God! O Lord, You have created this universe out of nothing.

We praise You and adore You for having created this child in your daughter's womb, for having protected it, and for blessing her to deliver the baby without danger or difficulty. We thank You for this new born infant, your precious gift to us. We rejoice in You for enabling us to see this mother and baby in good health. Though we don't deserve all Your great blessings, we thank You for all your bounteous gifts, especially for this baby. Nurture this child in your mercy and bless it to grow up without any affliction of the body, mind or spirit.

Lord, You are the source of light and life. Illumine the mind of this child and help him/her grow in grace and Godly wisdom.

Lord, Jesus Christ! You were born from Holy Mother Virgin Mary and was a child for our sake. You passed through the different stages of growth and thus blessed the human birth, childhood and successive stages in our life. We pray for this new-born baby and his/her parents.

Bless this family, and may the Holy family of Nazreth, be the unique model for them. Enable the parents to dedicate this child to your care, and also for the glory of Your Name. Lord, You be the Master and Guide for this child, guarding and guiding him/her in his/her education and growth.

Give us the wisdom to minister unto this baby for your sake. May the guardian angel protect this child through the days. Bless this child that it grows to perfect maturity, and remain steadfast in your ways, and be the heir in your kingdom in the company of the elect.

We pray for the intercession of St. Mary and all other Saints on behalf of this baby, that we may praise and adore the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and always, forever and ever. Amen.
