H G Mathews Mar Bernabas Metropolitan

His Grace Mar Bernabas, a native of Kerala, India, was born on August 9, 1924, son of Mr. K.V Korah Kallarackal Parampil, Vengola, Perumbavoor. After his schools and college education, he had his theological studies at the Orthodox Theological Seminary at Kottayam. He was ordained as deacon in 1943,and as priest in 1951. It was in 1977 that he was elected by the Malankara Syrian Christian Association as a Bishop. On May 15 1978 he was ordained as bishop of Orthodox Church by H.H Beselios Marthoma Mathews I.
