1. Bethany
Ashram.:
In 1918, Metropolitan Mar Ivanios and Alexios Mar Theodosius started
the Ranny-Perunad Ashram.The objective is to live according to the
monastic vows through the Holy Qurbana, prayer, study and mission
activities. A hospital in Perunad, a Bethany High School in Kunnamkulam
and an old age home in Kuzhimattom, Kottayam are functioning under the
supervision of the Bethany Ashram. There are branches of the Bethany
Ashram in Kunnamkulam (1920), Kuzhimattom (1969) and Elapara (1993).
There are 17 members in Bethany Ashrams. Fr. P.T. Geevarghese (later Mar
Ivanios) (1918- 1930), Alexios Mar Thevodosios (1930-1965), Abo Yuhanon
(1980-1986), Fr.Kuriakose (1989-1989), Fr.Paulose (1989-1992), Fr.
Solomon (1993-1996) were the chief office bearers. Since 1996 Fr.Stephen
O.I.C is the Superior.

2.Vallikattu Dayara-
Vakathanam:
Pulikottil Joseph Mar Dionysios II founded a church in the 2 1/2
acres of land in Ayanattukunnil, Vakathanam that was received on lease
from the Travancore government in 1868. Fr.Kalapurackal Paulose,
pazhiattungal Geevarghese were the people who supervised the
construction of the Church. Fr. Kandapurackal built a two storeyed
building for the Church.
In 1875 Ramban Geevarghese Karuchira resided in the Church complex and
developed it into a dayara.In 1928 His Holiness Baselios Geevarghese I
Catholicose was laid to rest in Vallikattu Dayara. His Holiness Baselios
Mar Thoma Mathews I Bava renovated the Vallikattu Dayara in 1982. Today,
it is an important pilgrim centre.August 15 (Shunoyo Feast) and December
17 (anniversary of Catholica II) are the important feast days for the
Dayara.

3. Mount Tabor Ashram,
Pathanapuram:
Thoma Mar Dionysius established the Mount Tabor Ashram in
Pathanapuram in 1929. The main objectives were promotion of monastic
life, starting of educational institutions, opening of Bhavan for the
old and children and hospitals, social service and teaching of Orthodox
beliefs. There are 47 members in the ashram.
Thoma Mar Dionysius (1929-1972) was the first Superior, Since 1972
Catholicate - designate Thomas Mar Timotheos is the superior. Ramban
Zacharia (1964- 79), Ramban C.T. Isac (1979-80), Ramban T.M. Samuel
(1980-92) have served as secretaries. Since 1992 Fr.K.A. Abraham is the
secretary.At Pattazhi Maduraimalai, Melam Kulamudie. Kurienayam, Malloor,
Podukal- Ramankuth, Mananthavadi- Thondarnadu, Thiruchirapalli Malankara
(Tamilnadu) and Puthenkodu Mathoor (Tamilnadu) The Ashram has branches.
A Boy's Home in Melam Kulanudi and a 100 bedded hospital in Mathur,
Tamilnadu are operation under the Mount Tabor Ashram. Two Colleges, One
Higher Secondary School, 6 High Schools, 6 lower- upper primary schools
are run under the supervision of the Ashram.

4. Christushishiya Ashram
Thadakam, Coimbatore:
Under the leadership of Bishop Herbert Bachen Ham Walsh, K.C.
Varghese, T.O.Mathew and Mrs Bachen Ham Walsh, his students at Bishop's
College Calcutta started Ashram Thadakam near Coimbatore in 1936. Abo
Alexios of Bethany Ashram was the visiting Bishop. Thereafter, Philipose
Mar Theophilos was the Visiting Bishop. The objective was to promote
Christian life by working for the uplift of the poor and doing social
service. Bishop Walsh Hospital (1972), St.Gregorios Balabhavan (1997)
and Bishop Walsh Seminary School (1995) are functioning under the
responsibility of the Ashram. Four women and five men are members of the
ashram.

Philipose Thomas, M.A. Korah held the main responsibilities for a term
each. Currently, Fr.K.V. Jacob is the Acharya and George Thoppil is the
P.R. O. Philipose Mar Eusebios Metropolitan is the Visiting Bishop.
Thereafter, Philipose Mar Theophilos was the Visiting Bishop. Extension
work is going on at present. Conferences and Retreats are being
conducted in the Ashram regularly.

5.Mar Kuriakose Ashram.
Mylapra:
Ramban P.I.Mathews started in Attachakkal in the year 1937 Mar
Kuriakose Ashram. Since 1962 Mar Kuriakose Ashram and its activities
were made extensive with Mylapra as the center. Its main objectives are
social service, uplift of the poor, Spreading of the Gospels,
educational activities, rites of worship, and training in the Gospels.
There are 2 Rambans, 5 Priests, 1 Seminarian and 3 Brothers in the
Ashram. P.I. Mathews Ramban (1962-91) and Christophorus Ramban (1991-93)
held charge of the Ashram. Since 1993 Aprem Ramban has been its
superior. The Attachakkal High School was founded in 1952 and Mathews
Ramban Memorial English Medium School was founded in 1997. These are
institutions owned by the Ashram. Fr. Sam George is the School Manager.
There is a branch of this Ashram in Thannithottil.

6. Mar Basil
Dayara,Pathanamthitta.
Metropolitan Puthencavu Geevarghese Mar Philexinos of Thumpamon
diocese started this dayara in 1938. The first member of the dayara was
P.E. Daniel Clery (later Daniel Mar Philexinos) Metropolitan. The
objective was the overall spiritual, educational and temporal growth of
the diocese. Kuriakose Mar Clemis, Fr. K.M. Thomas, Fr.Titus George, Fr.
V.M.Abraham are ts members. Christian activites are carried out in the
Dayara under the leadership of the diocesan Metropolitan Philipose Mar
Eusebios.

7. St. George Dayara,
Othara :
The Othara was started with the purpose of popularising the
institution of dayaras. It was founded on the land donated to the Church
by Thottapurath T. K. Alexander. The Metropolitan of Thumpamon diocese
Puthencavu Geevarghese Mar Philexinos with the blessings and goodwishes
of His Holiness Geevarghese II Catholicose constructed it in 1944. Fr.
N. A. Yuhanon Malpan (Yuhanon Mar Sevarios), Fr. E. Mathews (His
Holiness Baselios Mar Thoma Mathews II Catholica Bava), Marattu Thomas
Ramban, Fr.T.I Geevarghese and Fr. P.M.George Cor Episcopa undertook its
main responsibility.
The first visiting Bishop was Puthencavu Geevarghese Mar Philexinos
Metropolitan. Fr. E. Mathews (later Catholicose) served as its superior
for a long period. At present the head of the Chengannur diocese Thomas
Mar Athanasios resides in Othara Dayara and holds the main charge. Here
efforts are made to develop the dayaras movement in the Church.

8. Puthuppady Ashram:
The foundation stone for the St. Pauls Ashram and Balabhavan in
Puthuppady was laid on 16 November 1958. In 1959 Puthuppady Balabhavan
was started. Metropolitan Geevarghese Mar Osthathios is the founder of
the Puthuppady Ashram, which is in Calicut district. Its objectives are
evangelisation of India, selfless service and protection of orphans.
There are 2 Rambans, 11 Priests and 8 brothers actively serving in the
Ashram.
St. Paul's printing press and Book Binding Unit was started in 1987 by
the Ashram. The Ashram is located about 11/2 Km away from 24th mile (Engapapzha)
on the Calicut -Wayanad road. Fr. P.M. Thomas (1958- 65), Fr. K.I.
Philip (1965-70) have been the chief office bearers. Since 1971, Ramban
P.M. Thomas has been the Manager of the Ashram.

9. Bethlehem
Ashram,Chengamanad
Mathews Mar Coorilose (His Holiness Mathews II Catholicose) founded
the Bethlehem Ashram, in Chengamanad in 1960. There are 3 Rambans, 18
Priests and 2 Brothers actively involved as members of the ashram. The
priests of the ashram in Chengamanad are engaged in the activities
related to St.Gregorios College, Kottarakara, B. Ed College, Chengamanad
I.T.C, School and in discharging the responsibilities of the different
parishes of the Kollam - Thiruvanthapuam dioceses.
Kuttikonam Bethel Ashram, Kottarakara Mount Ashram, Pattazhi Calvary
Ashram,Chengamanad I.T.C, St. Gregorios College, Kottarakara, B. Ed
College and Baselios School, Kottapuram are the different institutions
attached to the Ashram.

His Holiness Mathew II Catholicose is the visting Bishop. The head of

10. St. Gregorioes Mount
Ashram:
Metropolitan Mathews Mar Coorilose (His Holiness Mathews II
Catholicose) started St. Gregorios Mount Ashram in Kottarakara in 1964.
Its objectives are social service, educational activities and uplift of
the poor. This ashram is a branch of the chengamanad Bethelehem Ashram.
Fr. P.M. Koshy (1964-66), Fr. P.M. George (1966-73), Fr. P.K. Solomon
(1973-81) have held charge of this Ashram. From 1981 Fr. Thomas Varghese
holds its main responsibility.

11. Chayalode Ashram:
On 2 March 1968 St. George Mount ashram was started in Chayalode.
Leadership is here being given for spiritual - social- educational
activities. Thehayalode st. Goerge High School (1976) and U.P School
(1960) are owned by the ashram. The ashram was founded by Mathews Mar
Coorilose Metropolitan (His Holiness II Catholicose) Currently, the main
charge is held by Rev. Alex Kurumbil Cor Episcopa. There are two members
in the Ashram.

12. Holy Trinity
Ashram,Ranni:
Metropolitan late Geevaryhese Mar Dioscoros was started the St.
Trinity Ashram in Ranni in 1970. Its objectives are to create Orthodox
monks in the Church, to inculcate the spirit of selfless service in its
members, to uplift the poor and to establish educational institutions.
There are 11 members in the ashram. Fr. K. P. Varghese, Fr.K.T.Mathews,
Fr. M. Johnson were the chief office bearers.

13. Mar Baselios Ashram,
Njaliakuzhy:
Metropolitan Mathews Mar Athanasios started in 1971 Njaliakuzhy
Hermon Mount in memory of Kattil Yuhanon Kathanar. Its objectives are
protection of Eastern worship and formation of Eastern community.
Fr. K.V. Thomas (1971-75), His Holiness Mathews I Catholicose (1975-87),
Ramban Bursauma (1987-90) held its chief responsibilities. Metropolitan
Geevarghese Mar Ivanios of Kottayam diocese has been giving leadership

14. St. Thomas
Ashram,Bhilai.
St. Stephanos Mar Thevodosios founded in 1973 St ThomasAshram in
Bhilai. Importance is given to social welfare activities and education
for the village people of India. The ashram is located near Durga
Station, which is 13 kms away from Bhilai railway station. Fr. K.M.
Varghese (1973-80), Fr. M.Varghese (1980-85) and Fr. George Mathew
(1985-1994) have held charge of the Ashram. From 1994 Fr. Raju Thomas,
is the superior.
15. Bethel
Ashram,Kuttikonam:
In 1976 Mathews Mar Coorilose Metropolitan (the present Catholicose)
founded the Bethel Ashram in Kuttikonam. It is a branch of the
Bethelehem Ashram in chengamanad. In 1979 St. Gregorios English Medium
L.P.School and later the Malayalam Medium U.P School were started.
Fr.Philip K. Alex was the chief office bearer. Since 1985 Fr. S.K.John
is the Superior.

18. Mount Carmel

Metropolitan Mathews Mar Coorilose (His Holiness Mathews II
Catholicose) founded in 1978 the Mount Carmel Ashram in East Kallada.
Its objective is to set up educational institutions in the name of Mar
Elia, the prophet. In 1978, adjacent to the ashram an I.T.C and in 1982
an English Medium School was started. Fr. John C. Cherayil (1978-1980)
held its main charge. Since 1980 Fr. T.Y. Geevarghese has been serving
as the superior.

19. Mount Horeb Ashram ,Sasthamkottah.
His Holiness Mathews II Catholicose started the Mount Horeb Ashram in
Sasthamkottah. Its objectives are training its inmates in monastic life
and spiritual discipline and social and educational activities. There
are seven members in the ashram including three permanent inmates.
Metropolitan Zacharia Mar Athanasios is an associate member of the

20. St. Thomas
Ashram,Attapadi:
On 11 November 1994 Metropolitan Thomas Mar Timotheos, Catholicose-
designate founded the St. Thomas Ashram in Attapadi which is in Palakkad
district under Malabar diocese. Its objectives are to set up old age
home for priests, a village for children, a home for the old, ashram for
priests and a hospital. There are 6 members in the ashram.
The ashram is located 2 Kms away on the Chittoor Dam Road which is near
shulikadav on the palakkad - Kozhikode route via Mannarcaud and Aanakudi.
The Catholicate-designate Thomas Mar Timotheos (President), Ramban
Paulose (Vice- president), Fr. M.D. John (Director) are the chief office
bearers.

21. St. Thomas
Dayara,Vettikal:
One of the crosses of Mulanthuruthy Church was installed in 1125.
That was the beginning of today's Dayara. In 1200 it was elevated as
Kurishupalli. In 1809 the younger Bava of kattumangattu family was
interred here. Parumala Mar Gregorios resided here for a long period of
time. It was here, on 10 December 1896 that Parumala Thirumeni was
consecrated as Metropolitan. On 22 Edavam 1877 the consecration of the
Dayara took place. In 1976 Metropolitan Joseph Mar Pakkomios renovated
the Dayara. On 10 December 1976 the holi relics of Parumala Thirumeni
were interred here. The Vettikal Dayara is 5 Kms away from Mulanthuruthy
Fr. P.A.S. Yohanan is its manager now.

22. Mar Kuriakose Dayara,
Pampady:
Kuriakose Mar Gregorios founded in 1085 M.E (1909) Mar Kuriakose
Dayara at Pothenpuram in Pampady. Its objective was to foster an ashram
community embedded in the tombs of Kuriakose Mar Gregorios (Pampady
Thirumeni) and Mathews Mar Ivanios can be found here. K.G.College, B.M.M.

Gregorios Balabhavanan are the institutions here. Very Rev. P.C.Yohanan
