Orthodox Youth MovementOrthodox Christian Youth Movement of India is the youth wing of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, The Oriental Orthodox Youth Movement functions with the participation of the youth at the diocesan level. P.E. Daniel Clery (Daniel Mar Philexinos) was appointed as its first secretary. It was in the southern diocese that the early activities became effective. In 1967 the Holy Synod recognized the administrative wing of the Youth Movement. The head office of the 15000 member strong Youth movement is Bethel Aramana, Chengannur. Its objectives are worship, study, and service. The official organ of the movement was "Orthodox Youth". In 1985 the Ayyamparambu Youth Center was started in Kunnamkulam. Daniel Mar Philexinos, Mathews Mar Coorilos, Thomas Mar Timotheos, Geevarghese Mar Osthathios and Paulose Mar Milithios have served as its President. Since 1997, Dr.Yakob Mar Irenios is its President. General Secretaries: P.E. Daniel Clery (1942-54), T.C. Oommen (1954-56), Fr. K.C. Oommen (1956-), Deacon T.G. John, Fr. T.J.
